The history of Arabia is not all easy to understand. Myths and Legends have written and re-written themselves across the land. In valleys on rocks, in caves, deep underwater, aloft in the cloudless sky. Day by day passes. Mystery remains.
In the beginning, the strange characters written in secret places tell...
There were horses who ruled this land justly. Their King, Stormfoot, left them one day to go questing. However, this soon proved fatal. He was gone for over six years. His mate, Windracer, grew restless. Their just king left when he was sixteen and his bride was fourteen. Now he was twenty-two, she was twenty years. Her time for yeilding offspring was coming to an end. Though Windracer, was a wonderful Empress, she wasn't as devoted with out Stormfoot. She grew restless and one day left her and her husband’s faithful friend Morninglight, and his ess, mate Morningmist, in charge of the Kingdom.
Word reached dark mountains to the West, of the royal families leaving. Windracer had taken her closest young friend Fearless, who was a young black colt, the son of her Lord's brother. They raced away, in quest of the Lord. They raced day and night away. The darks drew near, overshadowing Arabia, a peaceful prospering land, but growing more and more restless with out blood line rulers. Morningmist ruled well, but was not as loved as the Empress and Emperor had been. They ruled carefully justly, but didn’t patrol the land and hear what subjects thought of their rule, and how they were doing as the King had. He grew less and less alert. And one day, the sun didn’t come up. The clouds were heavy and thick. “It’s just a normal fog…” soon was discarded and mothers whirled at the heavy air, protecting their children. Ears pricked at seemingly nothing, while the neck on every cat stood up straight and wolves slunk around with hair bushed out.
Then it happened Darkshadow, one of the dark horses from the mountains of nearby, a relative of the ruler, entered the capital. He slipped down alleys. Fae’s screamed and covered children as his unseen bulk passed. The evil colt slipped on, passing streets. Out into a square he waited watching. A young perfect fae passed along, beautiful tossing head she trotted along. He murmured gently, calling her into the shadows. She came, unknowingly. And waited for a further word, when suddenly she felt a nip on her neck she stepped sideways. Away from it, searching the darkness, she couldn’t see anything, all of a sudden through the darkness she was shoved into a corner. Dark took her... brutally, cruelly, nothing she could do. The mare fought and twisted and turned, but Darkshadow was too strong for her, she raced away, brokenly. He had forced her. The dark turned and suddenly screamed. Through the dark night darks from the mountain raced down. They plundered the city, recklessly; they drove children to death, mares to surrender, slaughtering many, and brutally manning mares. The city was taken, and lived under captivity for years.
Meanwhile, far away, Windracer was traveling with Fearless, they found who they were working for. But he had been attacked and lay dieing. He then instructed Windracer, to bear children by Fearless and keep the land alive. They fell in love quickly, and had a baby. It was a filly; finally they turned away from the burial ground of Stormfoot, and returned to Arabia. It was in a horrible uproar, unjustice everywhere. Fearless, had named their daughter Aasifa after her mother, the name meant storm. They returned to a horribly scarred land and proceeded to build an army secretly.
After one year had passed Windracer had another baby, this time it was named Al-Hawa. The Wind. After having to flee from the cruel rulers. Windracer didn’t pay much attention to her children and was rough with them. However, their father Fearless loved and trained them. When Al-Hawa was two years old, his mother died. It was only Fearless and the people left to fight the darks. The uprising began. It progressed well, and finally with lots of work, they defeated the darks. Evil horses hid away, and left. Lights pursued, and settled down once more to life. Aasifa and Al-Hawa were very young still, and so Fearless helped rule for many long years. He fell sick when Al-Hawa had turned four years old and died a few months later. And so, immediately Aasifa and Al-Hawa took over ruling. The country of Arabia loved them, and slowly the old damaged horses and beasts died leaving children who weren’t harmed.
However, during the darks long reign, men had come as well. Building impressive walls, and palaces, and collecting impressive and important gems. Now the land is very rich, the palace stands, and is up kept. Who dares come and trouble this country? Cats and wolves live in harmony with raptors and horses. All light. But gradually more darks are returning. What will happen next?
